Solar Thermal Power Talk

I spoke tonight to over a hundred people at the Oakland East Bay Power and Energy Society on the Kimberlina Solar Thermal Power Plant Project.  It was fun to talk about my work and see some old friends (yes they have gotten older).

However the highlight for me was meeting Prof. Otto Smith, who in 1957 invented the Smith Predictor, used for controlling systems with dead time.  Hmm, I can think of a system with dead time…
