Fathers’ Day remembrance

Sunday, June 16th, 2013

I decided to remember my father on this Fathers’ Day by writing another story about him.  Looking through his files, I found four cards and letters that he had written home to his father from the Pacific Theater during World War II.  I had never seen these before, although I had heard some of the stories he wrote home about.  But I was really struck by his closing line: “Your loving son, Bill.

I transcribed the letters, and found some of the Japanese invasion currency he sent home.
